Ravensburg is a German town which is situated in Upper Swabia, within the Ravensburg district in the state of Baden-Wüttemburg.
It is yet another historic German town, and was an important trading center in the Middle Ages. There are historical landscapes and landmarks from that time, inside the town which raises the splendor of the town even more. It hosts many festivals every year and the most popular one is the Rutenfest, which is held in the middle of the year.
The town has an important center for mechanical engineering today. It played no part in World War II and is now an important industrial centre in Germany. It is home to various famous people, such as Henry the Lion who was born in the Ravensburg Castle, and famous painter Franz Joachim Beich.
