Nové Zámky is a town located in the south west of Slovakia. Its name means 'New Castle’ and was given to the town after a fortress was built there as part of the defences against the invading Turks. The town lies in the Nitra region and so benefits from a mixture of historical buildings and also natural features.

In order to see everything that the town and the surrounding area have to offer you should consider hiring a car through VIP cars. The town was very heavily damaged during the Second World War and so much of the history of the town can only be seen in the town museum. There are still a number of surviving religious buildings from the 17th century onwards though that you can go and visit.

If nature is more your thing you can head out into one of 20 nature reserves that are situated around the town.
