Mobile is a city and salt water port in the US state of Alabama. Named after a Native American tribe Mobila, this town is located at the junction of the Mobile River and Mobile Bay in the Gulf of Mexico. Mobile is also known for its many festivals and particularly as the first city to host the Mardi Gras festival in the early 18th century, a tradition that continues till this day.
Mobile has many historical attractions for travelers to see. The Fort Conde is the recreation of a historic fort built here in 1723 and well worth visiting.
