Batesville is the county seat and the major city of Independence County, Arkansas. Batesville is located around 183 km northeast of Little Rock. The city functions as a provincial distribution and manufacturing hub for the Ozark Mountain region and northeast Arkansas. Batesville is the 2nd oldest municipality in the state. In early period, the city was a significant port on the White River and served as an entrance to the core of northern Arkansas.
