Cachoeiro de Itapemirim is a city in the south east of Brazil in the state of Espírito Santo. The city lies on the banks of the river Itapemirim, from which it gets its name. It is known for use of granite and marble in many buildings around the city, particularly in St. Peters Cathedral.

The town is well connected with direct railway lines to Rio de Janeiro and Vitória. Founded at the foot of a waterfall, the city is often known as 'A capital oculta do mundo’, which means 'the secret capital of the world’.
