Recklinghausen is the capital city of the district of Recklinghausen and borders the rural Münsterland. The city is situated in a picturesque location surrounded by farms and large fields. It is the 22nd largest city in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and is the 60th largest city in Germany overall.
