At the heart of Porto Cervo is its marina. It is home to the exclusive Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and there is also a local shipyard capable of repairing these. The entire resort village of Porto Cervo was created by Prince Karim Aga Khan as an exclusive tourist resort, and this has now grown into a much larger tourist industry. There are also many attractions that do not require a lot of money, and they are in the form of the soft, sandy beaches and the huge variety of water sports on offer. You can choose anything from boat trips to snorkelling. If you decide you want to see more of the historical side of Sardinia, you can rent a car from VIP Cars and head to one of the old cities in Olbia-Tempio, some of which date back 6000 years.
