Sassuolo is a town in the north of Italy in Modena Province in the Emilia-Romagna region. The town is located on the Secchia River’s right bank and has Modena, the provincial capital, 17 km to the north east of the town. The town has a number of impressive buildings showing off some of the architectural styles used over the years. One of the main sights is the Ducal Palace of Sassuolo dating back to 1634. The interior has been worked on by a number of artists in order to produce the 17th century frescos currently found within the building. If you wish to explore more of the region, you can hire a car and pick up the main road to take you into Modena, or you can take the A1 to the south east to take you to Bologna.
