Terni is a city it Central Italy located close to Rome and Spoleto, two other important centres. Its origins, according to archeological evidence, can be dated back to the Umbrian’s of the seventh Century BC. After it was conquered by Rome, Terni became an important town along the famous Roman Roads.
Terni offers a range of different attractions. Some key ones include roman ruins such as the amphitheatre. Many churches are located in the city as are many different historic palaces once occupied by nobles. A sculpture, the “Lance of Light” by local artist Arnaldo Pomodoro graces the city too. Finally, a castle once used for fortification during wars now survives as a popular tourist spot.
