On the north-eastern coast of Malta, Gzira is popular in part due to its central location. From the seafront, one can see fabulous views of the old walled city of Valletta, with Manoel Island in the forefront. At night, the ruins illuminated and reflections dancing on the water give the area a different look. There is a public garden on the seafront in Gzira, and a fairly busy yacht marina. Other several places of interest in the town, includes a handful of monuments, a theatre, churches, gardens and some nice buildings.
There are several shopping outlets, and an old fort stands on the nearby Manoel Island.
