Piedras Negras is a city and seat of the adjoining municipality of the similar name located in the state of Coahuila, Mexico. Piedras Negras endures at the northeastern edge of Coahuila on the U.S.-Mexico border throughout the Rio Bravo from Eagle Pass in Texas. Piedras Negras was established in 1849 and was renamed Ciudad Porfirio Diaz in 1888. Mercado Zaragoza or El Mercado is a traditionalistic Mexican market where you can purchase a range of hand-made arts and crafts from the state. The Macro Plaza is a big square enclosed by shops, restaurants, and other businesses. Plaza de las Culturas is a new park and is honor to Mexico's 3 main aboriginal cultures - Olmec, Mayan, and Aztec.
