Saltillo Downtown is the lively part of the north-eastern city in Mexico. The Battle of Saltillo took place close to today’s thriving downtown area. The charming historical area is filled with fine old colonial buildings. Built using a beautiful pink coloured marble, it really is a striking and distinctive city. Visitors should go to the Plaza de Armes, with its interesting fountain. Other places of interest near to the downtown area include the Cathedral, the baseball stadium, the unique artificial lake built in the shape of the country of Mexico, the Victorian style Casa Purcell, the Mirador, and various museums.
