Oshakati is located near the Angolan border in the north of Namibia. It is the capital of the region although it is a young town, established only in 1966. It is a great location to base a holiday in northern Namibia from as there are many great markets and restaurants within the town itself that can be explored and enjoyed, while in the surrounding countryside there is incredible, dramatic scenery of the Damara and Kaoko regions to enjoy.To get the most out of a visit to Oshakati a vehicle is required, so hire a car from VIP Cars within the town. You can then head out and take in some of the breathtaking scenery, or you can head into the Etosha National Park, which lies to the south of Oshakati, in order to see some of the hundreds of different species that live there.
