Tsumeb Downtown is a great place to base your holiday in northern Namibia. You can hire a car through VIP Cars that will give you the freedom to go off and explore some of the spectacular and deeply interesting sites that surround Tsumeb. One of the attractions that are not related to mining is the sinkhole lakes. The lakes are Otjikoto and Guinas, which are over 60m and 100m in depth respectively. There is also a large underground lake, the Harasib, to the east of Tsumeb that can only be accessed by abseiling or using an ancient ladder that runs down the dolomite walls.There are not many places on the planet where you can go and see meteorites that still lie where they fell. In a field that is around a forty minute drive from Tsumeb there is Hoba, the world’s largest meteorite, weighing in at 60 tonnes and made of a combination of nickel and iron.
