Torres Novas is a town and municipality in the Santarém district of the Centro region in Portugal. Built around a 12th century castle, this town is a blend of medieval and modern styles. This city is characterized by its tree lined boulevards and open green parks. Torres Novas also has a large paper company along with a textile company contributing to its economy.
The Castle of Torres Novas was rebuilt in the 12th century by the Knights Templer and is one of the most popular attractions in the city. The Roman ruins of Villa Cardillio are located nearby and can also be visited.
