Vila Nova de Milfontes is a civil parish located in the Odemira municipality of the Portuguese Alentejo region. This town is located along the Atlantic coast along the edge of the Mira River and is a popular tourist site. This town is also a part of the 'Nature Park of the Southwest Alentejo and Vincentine Coast' and is a part of a large estuary and ecosystem based around the Mira River.
The beaches of Vila Nova de Milfontes are its primary attraction. The more popular among these are Malhão, Praia da Franquia (also known as Praia do Rio), Furnas, Aivados, and Ribeira da Azenha.
