Originally famous for its copper mine, the city of Falun is located on the county of Dalarna, Sweden. It serves as the administrative seat of the county. Today, it is a well-known industrial city even though its famous mine has closed down in 1992.The copper mine and other mining areas of Falun have been added in the list of UN’s world heritage sites in 2001. It’s most famous attraction is the copper mine which is located on the other side of the Falun River. Other attractions include the Stora Gruvstugan a Rococo-style building designed by Eric Geisler.
