In the Northwest of England on the coast one can find Blackpool. Famous for its autumn illuminations, the city is lit up with hundreds of fantastic light displays for several months of the year. The iconic Blackpool Tower looms high over the skyline, where at the top one can brave the dizzying walk of faith.
Fun and thrills abound at the Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Ride Europe’s tallest roller coaster, the Pepsi Max Big One, as well as other exciting fairground rides. Other attractions include the House of Terror, Ripley’s Believe it or Not, a wax work museum and a water centre. Horses trot along the beaches. Arcades, shops and fortune tellers line the streets, and there are many shopping and retail outlets. Popular for nights out, Blackpool has a very mixed and lively nightlife. A traditional tram system operates in the city.
