Haywards Heath is a town in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex and lies within the historic county of Sussex in England. It is 58 kilometres south of the capital of London which means easily accessible with a rental car. It is near to the large international Gatwick Airport. The name comes from an old English meaning for an official person who protected hedged areas from wandering cattle and livestock.
