Immortalized in the popular TV show, Only Fools and Horses, Peckham is a district in the south east of London. It is within the London Borough of Southwark, and it sits around 6 kilometers away from Charing Cross. The name comes from Saxon English, meaning the village alongside the River Peck. It was inhabited by Romans before Saxons.
There is a mural on the wall next to the Goose Green playground, created from an old vision had by William Blake in 1767. Although not painted until 1993, it represents the vision of an angel in a tree that Blake claims to have seen all those years ago. The Eel and Pie House is a local landmark, and there is a commemorative plaque outside the former home of motorbike designer Edward Turner.
