Rotherham is a town in South Yorkshire, England. It sits on the River Don and is between the major cities of Sheffield and Doncaster. Rotherham was not properly founded till the middle ages. It was later an important industrial town with coal, iron and steel being major industries in the town. Glassworks and mills were also established in the town. Rotherham has undergone lots of regeneration over recent years. Landmarks include the beautiful Rotherham Minster, the Chapel of Our Lady, Boston Castle, the Catcliffe Glass Cone and the ruins of Roche Abbey on the outskirts of town.
