Juneau is situated in the state's Southeastern region and the capital city of Alaska. Juneau is home to Theatre in the Rough. Eaglecrest Ski Area is functioned from late November through April every year and offers world-class downhill skiing. The biggest activities in Juneau for visitors are flight seeing, shopping, charter fishing, hiking, and visiting the Mendendhall Glacier. There is a tram that operates from the docks in Juneau downtown up Mount Roberts, one of the peaks overseeing the city.
