Yuma is a county seat and a city situated in Yuma County, Arizona. Yuma is situated in the southwestern nook of the state. The Yuma Crossing Park is a fascinating place to visit for a few hours. The Yuma Territorial Prison Park holds a great deal of the history of Arizona's 1st prison. One noteworthy characteristic of this park is the old west style, savage prison cell in a dark skittish cave. The Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park was the primary distribution and storing hub for Army supplies in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Close to the city are the Kofa Mountain Range and wildlife refuge, the Algodones Dunes, and Mittry and Martinez Lakes. The city is the site of the Marine Corps Air Station Yuma which conveys a yearly air show and several major military practices. The Rialto movie theatre formerly owned a grandest Kilgen pipe organ.
