Situated on the west coast of Sicily, Trapani is the capital city of Trapani Province. It has a rich history, having been founded by Elymians, and is steeped in local legends and myths. Today, it serves as a major gateway to the beautiful Egadi Islands. Additionally, it is an important fishing port. A lot of the old part of the city dates back to the medieval period.
