Chieti is a city located in central Italy on a crest overlooking the Pescara River. It is also only a few kilometres from the beauty of the Adriatic Sea and has the dominating Gran Sasso and Maiella mountains close by. The city was founded by the Arcadians and was occupied by the Marrucini people until the Romans conquered it. The city has many sights to see including the Cathedral, which is built in a Gothic style, and still has parts of its Romanesque crypt remaining.
