Brasov is the capital of Brasov County and a city of Romania. It is within the Transylvanian region and located in the central part of the country. As of 2011, it is the 8th most populous city in Romania. It is famous as the birthplace of Romania’s National Anthem.

Since it is located in the center region of the country, it is a great tourism spot. One of the favorite places of most locals and foreigners is the Bran Castle. There is also the Black Church which dates back to the 1400s. Don’t forget to see Catherine’s Gate, which is the only medieval city gate that has survived. Brasov also has the famous home of Vlad the Impaler, the basis for the character Count Dracula.
