Poprad is a town in the Spiš region of Slovakia and it is situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. You can hire a car in order to explore the town and the surrounding area through VIP cars, which are ideal for summer tourists. During the winter when there is a lot of snow on the ground and many people are there for the skiing there are some other interesting forms of transport that can also be used. One of these is the Tatra Electric Railway, which connect the ski resorts in the High Tatras to each other.

Within the town there are plenty of historic buildings to see that demonstrate both German and Polish architectural influence. One of the most notable is St. Egidius church, and example of early Gothic architecture from the 13th century. The church is also notable for its interior wall paintings that date back to the middle ages.
