Car Hire Foligno

Car Hire Foligno from USD 56.02/day - Italy
Folingo is one of the truly ancient towns of Italy. It predates even the Ancient Romans, as it was most likely founded by the Umbrians, who inhabited the Umbria area prior the Roman Civilization. The Romans conquered and renamed the city Fulignaeafter the Goddess Fulignia, who has a popular cult in the Empire.

Once the Roman Empire topped, the city went into decline. It was absorbed into the Duchy of Spoleto, and was attached by subsequent invaders: first the Saracens in 881 then ruined by the Magyars in 915 and 924 AD. Despite these fallbacks, the Foligno rebuilt, strengthen its defences and continued to grow. IN 1165 it was given the status of a free city by the Holy Roman Emperor, Barbarossa. The city continued to develop, being involved in many papal wars and eventually becoming a papal State until it was liberated by Napoleon in 1860s.

There is much history to witness in this city. Book your car now and explore it all!
