However, the fishermen’s village of Souillac creates a very different picture than you have ever imagined. Unlike other Mauritian beaches, Gris Gris is not known for its beauty. The beach braves out the mighty Indian Ocean whose unfriendly waves hit its coast with enormous force. Since La Nef Museum, the house of Robert Edward Hart, an Irish-Mauritian poet and writer, is on your way to the Gris Gris beach, you can make a stop here for couple of minutes. All the places are conveniently doable in a rental car that lets you explore Souillac in one go.
