Gdansk Airport also known as Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport is located in the northwest side of the city, approximately 12 kilometers from it. It’s not a huge airport but caters to a steady number of passengers of about 1.1 million annually. On the outside wall of the terminal building you can see the logo of the airport which is Lech Walesa's actual signature, a stylized 'W'. The airport opened in 1974 close to the village of Rebiechowo.From Gdansk Airport, tourist can reach the downtown via airport bus or taxis in queue.
