Torres Novas is located in central Portugal around 117 km northeast of Lisbon. Established around the 12th century castle, Torres Novas is anassortment of architecture. In the center of the town is the Castle of Torres Novas, which is considered to have been established long before the Reconquest in 1148. The marble cobblestoned pracas next to the Castle are delineated with three and four storey, lustrously painted buildings with a collection of cafes and restaurants providing al fresco dining. The historic centre of Torres Novas is a maze of constrict streets lined by traditional tiled faced town houses and shops. In the modern town of Torres Novas, there are parks abundantly with aged trees providing much required shade during the summer. Torres Novas also has a shopping mall with cinema complex and bowling.
