Ragusa is a small city located on southern tip of the Sicilian Triangle. The settlement goes back to the ancient Sicels, who had many tribes in the area. The city is divided into two sections: Upper and Lower Ragusa. The different regions are separated by a deep ravine, and connected by a series of bridges, such as the well-known Ponte dei Cappuccini, built in the 18th century.Tourism provides the town’s major source of income. The town itself, built on opposite cliffs of a ravine, is a stunning site and from the highpoints you can appreciate the geology of this region.
