One famous tourist spot is the Semperoper Opera House, built in 1841. This opera house is the historic center of Dresden, with major works by Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss. Another famous tourist spot is the Dresden Frauenkirche , which is a Lutheran church that has one of the largest domes in all of Europe. This church was built in the 18th century, but was destroyed during World War II. It was restored again in 2004 and is now considered as a symbol of reconciliation between the former enemies. Another great tourist spot is the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, a theater built in 1911.
