Atibaia, which also goes under the name Estância de Atibaia, is a city in Brazil located to the north of the state capital of São Paulo in the state of the same name. The name of the city originated in the indigenous Tupi language as Tybaia, but has mutated over time to the current form. The city has a large Japanese population, who are mostly responsible for the strawberry growing industry in the area.
You can get an incredible view over the city from Pedra Grande, but if you don’t fancy the hike up there you can hire a car instead to get you to this, and other, fantastic viewpoints around the city. You can book your car through VIP cars in advance of your trip. Then you can get out and explore the city and its surroundings.
