Aalen Downtown can be reached through Mercatura shopping mall when coming from the central bus station and train station of the city. In the northeastern part of the old town, the shady firehouse course is marked with retail, cafes, a civil hospital, and a beautiful half-timbered building from the early 18th century. To the southwest, you can reach the marketplace which is the biggest and liveliest square in the old town. Evangelical-Lutheran St. Nicholas' Church is situated east from the square in the same street and there are a number of pubs and cafes around the church.
Aalen city is located in the east of Baden-Wurttemberg. Along with 4 theatre clubs for all ages, the city is also known for Theatre of the Town of Aalen. There are 2 museums in the city to visit named Aalen Limes Museum and Geological-Paleontological Museum. The city also has a Historic Town Hall which was earlier made in the 14th century. It has a small statue of the Spy of Aalen and historically displayed other statues. Travelers can go through the market square which is the historical heart of the city and goes around 150 m from the town hall in the north to the Old Town Hall and the Historic Town Hall in the south.
