Baumholder is a town in the Rhineland-Palatinate district, in South-West Germany. The town is also the administrative centre for the district, which has the same name as the city. Baumholder is a town with a strong connection to the military. There are two bases nearby, one for the German army and another which is a station of the US Army. In Germany, the town is recognized as a resort area, due to the large, clear lake and the abundance of nature trails for hiking and cycling. The city allows two free nights for trailers to part near the fairgrounds. The hotels are mostly small and independent, but this does not indicate inferior quality or service. Baumholder offer many attractions but there are also many things to do in nearby towns and cities. To travel to these other sites, car rental is your best option.
