Leonberg is a town located in Baden-Wuerttemberg state around 16 km to the west of Stuttgart. Leonberg is well-known for its beautiful market square, its past role as seat of one of Wurttemberg's 1st parliaments, centuries old annual horse market, and the Pomeranzen garden. The old town dates from the middle ages and comprises a historical market square delineated by rejuvenated half-timber houses. The birth house of Schelling and the enormous Zum Schwarzen Adler guesthouse are also main features of the old town. More attractions comprise the old Latin school and the Evangelical Church with its Gothic and Roman architecture. The town park has a diversity of modernistic sculptures. On the eastern fringes of the town is the Engelbergtunnel. Town's Pomeranzengarten is the single leftover terraced garden in Germany. The Michaelskirche church in Eltingen was constructed in 1487 with one nave looked across by a retract chancel and spine vault.
