Munich’s east station was built in 1871, it was heavily damaged by air raids in WWII and rebuilt after the War’s end. Today there are two main lines, operated by the Intercity Express, which run out of the East station. These lines run from München–Mühldorf and München–Rosenheim. Additionally the urban service runs to another station in Munch, the Munich Airport and the main S-bahn trunk line. Once you arrive in the Bavarian capital, the easiest way to get around is by car.
