Valledoria is a town located to the north of Sassari in the province of Sassari. It is located right on the coast on the Gulf of Asinara and it is also near to the mouth of the river Coghinas. Valledoria is one of the areas owned and controlled by the Doria family, who were the dominant rulers of the region for a number of centuries.
