Kariya Train Station is located in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan on both the Meitetsu Mikawa Line and Tokaido Main Line. The station was inaugurated on 1 September, 1888. The station isabout 3.6 km from Chiryu on the Mikawa Line and about 341.6 rail km from Tokyo on the Tokaido Main Line. Kariya Train Station has 2 island platforms serving 4 tracks. Kariya city is situated in chief Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Kariya was a castle town during the Sengoku period in an area contendedamongst the Oda clan, Imagawa clan, and several local warlords. After the Meiji restoration, Kariya Town was made in Hekikai District, Aichi Prefecture on 1 October, 1889. The town flourished as a hub for sake production, commerce, ceramics, and sericulture because of its location on the primary railway routes.
