Sitting on the banks of the River Isar, Platting is a beautiful town within the Germany’s Deggendorf District. One of the Nazi support hubs during the World War II, Platting produced some of the best commanding officers for the Nazi Army. The town, however, has moved from that era to a period where tourism constitutes as a major economic activity. Platting Downtown, also known as the city center, is a prominent tourist hangout place. The city center is close to River Isar, which is hailed as Europe’s best playing spots for Freestyle Kayaking. The downtown tends to get crowded during the Annual ICF World Championship.
