Trapani is a small city on Sicily’s west coast. The first people to settle in the region were the Elmyrians, who used the colony as a port for their nearby town, Erice. On Good Friday, a religious procession is held thorough the city. The wood, canvas and glue sculptures in the procession date to the 1600s and depict the scenes leading up to the crucifixion.
