Nuevo Laredo is across the border from Laredo, Texas. It is larger than its American 'Twin’, but also younger as this city was born when Mexico split from Texas. The city isn’t a place frequented by many tourists. Regardless, there are several sites and attractions of local interest in this large city. The first place recommended to travellers in Nuevo Laredo is Marti’s. Marti’s is a market where you can get authentic Mexican artisan crafts and fine Mexican silver. For a taste of historic times, you can go to Zaragoza Street or Avenida Guerraro. Both places have buildings from the city’s past, and allow a glimpse into colonial times. They also feature shops and cafes and other places of interest to tourists. When you travel through Nuevo Laredo, the best way to get around is by car rental.
