Nuoro is the capital city of the province of the same name. It is located in the central-eastern part of Sardinia. The town enjoys a position on the slopes of Monte Ortobene and the location has been inhabited since at least 3500 BC. This rich history is celebrated in a number of museums in the city. These are the National Archaeological Museum, the Sardinian Museum of Ethnography, Grazia Deledda’s Museum and the Provincial Modern Art Museum.
