One of the oldest cities of Queensland, Rockhampton is located on the tropic of Capricorn and is close to the Queensland coast. It was named by the first land commissioner of Queensland, Mr. W. Wiseman. It is said that he was inspired by the rocks that were in the river and flowed through Rockhampton.
Universally, it is known as Rocky. It is a flat topography and most places can be visited simply on foot only, especially around the city center.
