Tomago is a suburb comprising of the semi-rural and industrial parts of Port Stephens located in the Hunter Region of the state – New South Wales. Tomago is located north of the Hunter River, as well as, the western part of water, called Fullerton Cove. The meaning of Tomago is sweet water, which is in the local aboriginal lingua. It is a flat land, with sandy soil.

Tomago is surrounded on all its 3 sides by water. The township is located on the main road between Nelson Bay and Hexham. Newcastle is only an hour’s drive from the town of Tomago. The town is a great spot for fishing and also seafood range. It is also close to the Kooragang Nature Reserve, which offers ideal opportunities for mountain biking, picnics, barbeques and bushwalking. Tomago is a beautiful destination and the best way to explore it along with the nearby located towns is a rental car.
