Augsburg is a moderately-populated city in the Bavaria Region of Germany. It is located about an hour away from Munich, and near several other important cities. The history of this town goes back over 2000 years and today is a town known for its university and many historical attractions.The Rathaus is a magnificent historic building that reviewers agree must be visited. It was heavily damaged in WWII, but has recently been restored to its 17th century glory. The restaurant is said to be fantastic, too. The Fuggerei was an experiencing social housing, the oldest in Europe, and is still used today. Visitors can tour the houses; visit a museum showing the house as it was originally decoratedand shop for locally crafted items.
