Baumholder is a town in the Rhineland-Palatinate district, in South-West Germany. The town is also the administrative centre for the district, which has the same name as the city. Baumholder is a town with a strong connection to the military. There are two bases nearby, one for the German army and another which is a station of the US Army. In Germany, the town is recognized as a resort area, due to the large, clear lake and the abundance of nature trails for hiking and cycling.
