Kassel is a city situated on the Fulda River in northern Hesse, Germany. It is named from an ancient castle in Germany, “CastellumCattorum”. This city is well known for the “Documenta Exhibition” of contemporary art.
The first German observatory was founded here in 1558. In 1604 the very first German permanent theater building was founded here. In 1943 the city was almost destroyed due to a heavy bombing. Then it was reconstructed in 1950.
The Hercules Monument, Wilhelmshohe Palace, The Lions Castle, the Tom Galvin, the Karlsaue Park, Art museums are some well known tourist spots here. You can find many museums here also. Kassel is also famous for the football club.
