Norderstedt is one of the largest cities in Germany and is a part of the Hamburg Metropolitan Region. In fact, it's the fifth largest city with over 75,000 inhabitants, in the federal state of Schleswig Holstein, which belongs to the district of Segeberg.

Norderstedt was created by a merger between four towns on January 1st, 1970 which included towns of Garstedt and Friedrichsgabe both of which belong to the district of Pinneberg and the towns of Harksheide and Glashutte belonging to the district of Stormarn. This newly created city was then assigned the district of Segeberg.

Filled with amazing tourist attractions that include historical buildings, churches, parks, and zoos, Norderstedt is a great for a vacation. However, traveling through public transportation can be quite expensive, which is why huge number of travlers prefer to rent a car in Norderstedt.
